‘Tohu Va Vohu’ is an animation by the artist Jamie Mills (
www.jamie-mills.com) that explores how the world is made up of chaotic, cyclical patterns and structures and the kind of effects that can be had if human beings forget that they are made from the same formations.
The animation is accompanied by the music of glacis and this ep forms the soundtrack to the animation. Currently available as download only the animation and ep will be released together in physical form, sometime later in 2012.
glacis is the solo piano compositions of Edinburgh musician Euan McMeeken
The Press Say:
“The subsequent warmth of this EP is akin to that found on sets by Dustin O’Halloran, Nils Frahm and Alex Kozobolis… No matter what the season, Tohu Va Vohu is a tender companion, and a worthy follow-up to last year’s lovely Lost Again On Waking.” A Closer Listen
"...it’s heartbreaking. McMeeken’s piano compositions — as recorded by Ana Roman — are displaced with regret and slow longing. Whispers of cello (Guy Gelem) fulfill the promise of the title, Hebrew for “without form and void.”" The Muse in Music
"...the combination of the animation with the piano music, with minimal noise underlay is absolutely gorgeous" Song by Toad
